Abstract

There are challenges and considerations that must be prioritized when addressing studies in nutrition. The evidence analyzed for each of the objectives studied and its results is, in all cases, limited in its scope for methodological reasons: the heterogeneity of the interventions, the difficulty in finding an adequate control group, the conduct of double-blind studies , sample size, follow-up time, among others. This is why, although nutritional intervention is essential, it is difficult to have a high degree of certainty about its impact on CKD and DM.

In this section we will analyze the impact of different macro and micronutrients on different aspects of these patients, responding only to those in which evidence was found. In the case of potassium, phosphorus, calcium and vitamins in the diet, mixed results and limited evidence were found, so only a few suggestions are mentioned.
