Abstract

6 voices in 10 minutes: Diabetic foot

Advanced treatment for diabetic foot

Standard care is provided over a 4-week period because wounds that do not reduce in size by 50% after 4 weeks have a lower chance of healing at 12 weeks. At least 25% of patients are not cured.

Standard care includes ensuring good vascular supply, providing and treating soft tissue and bone infections, and performing debridement (mechanical, surgical, autolytic, enzymatic, and biological).
