Searching for the ideal target in the hypertensive patient with cardiovascular event
Arterial hypertension (AH) is a major problem within Public Health given its elevated prevalence and because it is the main cause of morbimortality in a global scale.
One in three adults in the world exhibits AH, and it is the main factor contributing to coronary disease, cerebrovascular accidents and heart failure.
People with diabetes are 1.5-2 times more likely to develop AH in comparison to the general population. At the same time, hypertensive people have 2.5 times more risks of developing diabetes, also in comparison to the general public.
