Abstract

Symposium 7: Education in diabetes: the use of technology and the impact of COVID-19

Use of networks. Shortening distances

Social networks are composed by people who maintain a relationship, and are brought together by certain interests. When they find each other in a virtual environment, they create a “web site”, made up of communities that have something in common.

With the appearance of Web 2.0, social networks give their users and communities the leading role. They are constructed in sites that facilitate communication between people, the interchange of information (in different medias: pictures, videos, posts, and many more) and the opportunity of meeting new people.
