Programs and interventions for children with obesity and crisis situations
Today in our country, more than ever, the concept of the double burden of malnutrition in children is very current. We find 32% of food insecurity1 and 41% of excess weight in children aged 5 to 122. It is also known, according to this same survey, that children eat worse than adults.
Faced with this situation of difficulties in access, and knowing that the determinants of obesity are multiple (high exposure to marketing, insufficient food education, inadequate supply of fresh foods, high availability and easy access to foods with excess sugar, fats and salt, obesogenic school environments, food labeling that is incomprehensible to consumers), public health strategies must also be.
