Abstract

Diabetic macular edema is one of the leading causes of blindness in the world's population. In recent years, the scientific community has made exponential advances in both the diagnosis and treatment of this condition.

In this presentation the different therapeutic options to deal with this serious disease are postulated, based on the latest systematic reviews, meta-analyses and scientific papers published in the last 5 years, as well as our experience of treating patients in real life.
