Abstract

The digital transformation (DT) of the health sector is about how technologies change the rules of participation, ways of working and interacting and ways of thinking of an organization. It offers opportunities to harness the transformative power of technology, address fundamental failures and evolve health systems towards a new reality. There are three important components: people, processes and technology1.

Telehealth involves the delivery of health services using information and communication technologies (TICS), when distance is an obstacle. It includes teleconsulting, teleinvestigation, telemanagement and teleeducation.
