Abstract

The diagnosis of type 1 diabetes mellitus (DM1) is totally different when it has been made in the community, almost always because its presentation with signs and symptoms of marked hyperglycemia, versus those in which diagnosis is made as part of a detection program. in high-risk non-diabetic individuals, for example the Diabetes Prevention Trial 1 (DPT-1).
