Abstract

On March 16, 2016, Mercedes Traversa, Staff Physician of the Diabetology Division of the José de San Martín Hospital de Clínicas, died in Buenos Aires.

Considering the professional aspect, she was a Doctor of Medicine, Adjunct Professor of Internal Medicine at the University of Buenos Aires (UBA). She was Director of the Graduate School of the Argentine Diabetes Society (SAD) and Director of the Postgraduate Course in Diabetes for Doctors from Abroad of the SAD. She was a member of different board of directors and work committees of the SAD, served as Secretary of the remote update programs PROAMI (Update Program in Internal Medicine) and PROTERAP (Update Program in Therapeutics), participated in multiple scientific publications and chapters of books, and was co-author of the book “Topics of Clinical Therapeutics”.
