The objective of these Joint Intercommittee Conference on Graduates and Arterial Hypertension and other Cardiovascular Risk Factors was to carry out a bibliographic review of the topic: “Cardiovascular disease and diabetes”. To do this, the 43 participants were divided into three work tables that reviewed and updated the following topics:
• Table 1: Type 1 diabetes mellitus and cardiovascular disease.
• Table 2: Heart failure and type 2 diabetes mellitus.
• Table 3: Cardiovascular effects of antidiabetic drugs.
