The appropriate management of diabetic kidney disease has been shown to improve the evolution of this common pathology that affects approximately 40% of people with diabetes in the world and in Argentina. The appropriate that have been shown to improve the evolution of the disease are the early diagnosis, the adequate achievement of goals (weight, blood pressure, blood glucose, lipid), the diet, the physical activity and the indication of some pharmacological groups: such as renin angiotensin aldosterone system inhibitors, SGLT-2 cotransport inhibitors, mineralocorticoid receptor antagonists, and GLP-1 receptor agonists. Furthermore, certain strategies such as the control of calcium, phosphorus and anemia improve renal outcomes, as well as the correct management of nephrotoxic substances in this patient population. That is why we have included these topics in this update, which aims to evaluate which of these have scientific measures to recommend them.
