Abstract

6 voices in 10 minutes: Experiences in education in Argentina

Educating teachers and police

Fundación Argentina Diabetes (Argentine Diabetes Foundation), a nonprofit private entity promoting diabetes education in the different social stratums, is carrying out a virtual education proposal destined for teachers, police cadets and correctional services employees, with a wide and inclusive view.

“Dulces Docentes, cuando la diabetes entra al aula” (“Sweet Teachers, when diabetes enters the classroom”) and “Conocer más sobre diabetes. Maestros líderes” (“Learning more about diabetes. Teachers that lead”) are training courses that hope to reach a 100% of teachers within the next 6 years. Both give score for the teaching career, which is needed in Argentina, and are provided by the Ministry of Education in San Luis Province (Argentina).
