Abstract

When we talk about chronic complications of diabetes in pregnancy, we have to take into account the effect of diabetes on pregnancy and on the other hand, the effect of pregnancy on diabetes.

The risk of chronic pregnancy complications may be similar for women with type 1 and type 2 diabetes, however, women with T1D are more likely to have microvascular complications.
