According to the World Health Organization (WHO), a person over 60 years of age is considered an older adult. By 2050, about 65% of older people will live in low- and middle-income countries, which means a challenge to guarantee care for this population.
Obesity, as an important public health problem, involves the aging population and in this age group, its reported prevalence for the US (year 2015) was 37% with no difference between the sexes.
