Abstract

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), of the 57 million global deaths / year in the world, 71% is due to non-communicable diseases and, within them, more than half to cardiovascular disease. Hypertension, smoking, high blood glucose, physical inactivity, being overweight and obese, and high cholesterol levels are among the main risk factors for death worldwide. Most of these factors are associated with the incidence of cardiovascular disease (CVD) and diabetes mellitus (DM), and patients with DM have a high prevalence of most risk factors.
